Press Statement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates issued a statement yesterday regarding what it referred to as “Türkiye’s diplomatic efforts to resolve the Sudan crisis.” This statement is nothing more than an attempt to escape the truth that the entire world now knows: that the UAE is directly responsible for the bloodshed that has occurred and continues to occur in Sudan; the mass killing, displacement, and atrocities that have befallen its people, as well as the destruction of its infrastructure and national institutions. This is so because the UAE is the primary sponsor of the terrorist Janjaweed militia, which is responsible for committing all these crimes.
In fact, the statement came as the terrorist militia was continuing to shell the IDPs camps in Al-Fasher, targeting the only operational hospital in the city. The terrorist militia is enabled to carry out these henouis attacks by using long-range heavy artillery and strategic drones supplied and operated by the UAE.
This has been documented, with conclusive material evidence, by global scientific centers and international investigative journalism. It has even been discussed in the U.S. Congress and other Western legislative bodies. Therefore, the hollow and false claims in the statement that the UAE is working for peace in Sudan are completely discredited by these irrefutable facts. The statement arrogantly and absurdly accuses the Sudanese Armed Forces of grossly ignoring the suffering of the Sudanese people, for not participating in the so-called Geneva talks. The most glaring expression of the lack of seriousness and value of these talks was the UAE’s participation. It was not, therefore, surprising that the Militia escalated its massacres against civilians immediately following these talks, as its sponsor was hailed as a “peace maker,” and the Militia itself received undeserved recognition and commendation that emboldened it to escalate its criminal operations. Sudan’s welcome of Türkiye’s willingness to mediate between her and the UAE is informed by the fact that the latter is a party to the aggression against the country. Thus, any effort to persuade the UAE to stop its aggression and evils against Sudan and its people deserves encouragement and a positive response. Türkiye is a highly regarded and trusted member of the international community. Nevertheless to achieve peace in Sudan, the UAE must immediately stop supplying its proxy militia with weapons and mercenaries, and unequivocally instructed it to lay down arms.
