TSC President Meets Turkish Ambassador to Sudan
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan met, on Monday, with the Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fatih Yildiz. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, said, in a press statement, that the meeting addressed the progress of bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance, develop, and strengthen them in various fields. They also discussed the development projects that Turkey intends to implement in Sudan in the coming period, including the resumption of Turkish Airlines operations from Portsudan in early June. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the meeting touched on the humanitarian aid projects that Turkey has continued to provide to the Sudanese people during their ordeal, in addition to discussing arrangements for delivering humanitarian aid through other routes in central and western Sudan.
Ambassador Al-Fadil stated that President the Transitional Sovereignty Council praised Turkey's supportive stances towards Sudan in international and regional forums. He also thanked the Turkish Ambassador for the information he provided regarding his country's participation in international forums and the London Ministerial Conference on Sudan. For his part, Turkish Ambassador Fatih Yildiz expressed his deep appreciation for the level of bilateral relations between the two countries, underscoring his country's firm, unwavering supportive stance for Sudan in regional and international forums, and its commitment to the stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Sudan.
Fatih Yildiz noted that he briefed President Al-Burhan on his country's participation in the London Ministerial Conference. He added that the meeting also addressed the outcomes of TSC President's visit to Turkey and the talks he held with President Erdoğan, in addition to ways to strengthen the partnership between the two countries and advance areas of joint cooperation. He stated, "The recent discussions held between Al-Burhan and Erdoğan in Turkey will move bilateral relations between the two countries to a new stage." The Turkish Ambassador indicated that Turkish Airlines will resume direct flights to Sudan, announcing the reopening of the branch of the Turkish Ziraat Bank in Portsudan. He noted that these steps will advance Sudanese-Turkish relations to wider horizons.
