TSC President Receives Phone Call from UN Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, received a phone call on Monday from the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, Tom Fletcher. The phone call discussed humanitarian issues and the delivery of humanitarian aid to El-Fashir. The call addressed the possibility of delivering aid to El-Fashir while avoiding impediments obstructing humanitarian convoys from the terrorist rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia or other groups. The phone call also touched on the necessity to deliver aid quickly via roads that facilitate the passage of humanitarian convoys to El-Fashir.
The United Nations had requested the establishment of logistical supply bases around El-Fashir to facilitate humanitarian action, particularly in the areas of Mellit and Tawila. The Government of Sudan agreed to this.
