MFA Undersecretary meets UN Assistant Secretary-General
The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, met today, Sunday, with the Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Assistant Administrator and Director of the Regional Bureau for Arab States at the United Nations Development Program Mr. Abdullah Al-Dardari. MFA Undersecretary welcomed the visit and thanked the United Nations for the cooperation and coordination between Sudan and the international organization. MFA Undersecretary extended briefings on the political developments in the country and the great progress achieved by the armed forces in various axes. He also listed the horrific violations and massacres committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia. Ambassador Al-Fadil requested the UN Assistant Secretary-General to contribute to the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the infrastructure destroyed by the rebel militia, and to support efforts aimed at the success of the next agricultural season to ensure food security and the necessity of establishing a mechanism for joint work between Sudan and the United Nations Development Program. For his part, the Un Assistant Secretary-General expressed his optimism about expanding in development areas, strengthening institutional capacities, and working on recovery programmes and repairing what was destroyed by the war in accordance with national priorities.
