Prime Minister: Effective Partnerships Are the Bridge Toward Recovery and Sustainability of the Health System
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed that the government attaches the highest priority to the health sector as one of the key pillars of state-building and social stability, stressing the importance of integrating national and international efforts to achieve the desired strategic objectives.
Addressing the National Forum of Health Sector Partners, organized by the General Directorate of International Health at the Federal Ministry of Health under the theme “The Bridge of Health: From Response to Recovery and Sustainability”, Dr. Idris described the forum as a historic event and one of the key tools contributing to the implementation of Sudan’s comprehensive health strategy. He noted that Sudan had raised the slogan “We Resist and We Triumph” from the highest platform at the United Nations, adding that the health platform represents a comprehensive launch for the sector and that coordination and follow-up within state institutions are ongoing.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the health workforce — the “White Army” — constitutes a cornerstone of the country’s health development, praising the efforts made by health professionals during the past period.
Dr. Idris also underscored the importance of coordination with international bodies and organizations to implement the overall plan for the sector, expressing Sudan’s appreciation, leadership and people alike, to all partners, organizations, and countries that have stood by the Sudanese people in their most difficult times. He reaffirmed that Sudan will always honor those who supported it with loyalty and gratitude.
