6th Infantry Division Repels Militia Attack on El-Fashir
The Sixth Infantry Division in El-Fashir announced that its forces successfully repelled an attack launched at dawn on Sunday by Al-Dagalo family militia on the city from the northwestern axis, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and equipment. In a statement, the Division confirmed that dozens of militia members were killed and others injured, while several combat vehicles were destroyed. The remaining forces fled towards the western outskirts of the city in the direction of the Wana mountains, leaving behind their dead and wounded.
The statement further indicated that the 6th Division had observed mass desertions of militia elements from various areas.
It added that some militia forces who fought in Saturday’s and Sunday’s battles had previously fled from the Kordofan axis to escape death, but were later forced to fight in the El-Fashir front, where they were annihilated.
The statement also noted that during the day, the militia carried out continuous shelling of the city, stressing that the situation is now stable.
The Division reassured citizens that El-Fashir is in safe hands, urging them to continue praying for victory. It extended condolences to the families of the martyrs, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, expressing hope for the safe return of the missing.
The 6th Infantry Division also expressed its appreciation to the valiant Armed Forces, the Joint Force, and supporting units in the Shanab Al-Asad battlefield for their steadfastness and sacrifice in defending the land and honor. At the same time, it voiced its disappointment with those who betrayed the homeland, affirming that victory is inevitable, Allah willing, urging citizens not to be misled by militia propaganda and false rumors.
