Foreign Minister meets Iranian President
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Youssef Ahmed met on Tuesday evening with His Excellency President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian.
The Minister conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Excellency President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) to the His Excellency Iranian President, and extended to him an invitation to visit Sudan, handing him a written message from TSC President expressing the appreciation of the leadership in Sudan for the leadership and people of Iran and its appreciation for the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The Minister thanked Iran for its support for Sudan in its current ordeal, extending briefing on the background and developments of the situation in Sudan, and the great progress made by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the supporting forces and their imminent vanquishment of the rebellion in all parts of the country.
The Iranian President, for his part, renewed his country's position in support of Sudan, stressing the steadfastness and continuity of this position, which embodies the fraternal relations between the two countries, which have returned strongly after a hiatus.
Pezeshkian promised to accept the invitation to visit Sudan at the appropriate time, asking that his greetings be conveyed to the leadership in Sudan.
