TSC President meets Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, met on Monday with the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Walid bin Abdul-Karim Al-Khuraiji, who arrived in the country on an official visit.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Awad, said in, a press statement, that the talks touched o the call to resume the Jeddah Platform. He added that President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council affirmed Sudan’s keenness to make the Jeddah Platform a success, considering it a foundation upon which to build, stressing the necessity of implementing what was agreed upon in May 2023. He said that the meeting also addressed the importance of expanding the base of facilitators in the Jeddah negotiations, revealing that President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council expressed his reservations on the presence of any party supporting the terrorist insurgent militia.
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council expressed his thanks and appreciation for the positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in support of the security and stability of Sudan, referring to the fraternal relations that bind the two brotherly peoples. The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister conveyed to President of the Sovereignty Council the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, pointing out that the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister affirmed, during the meeting, the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the security and stability of Sudan and its unlimited support for it, considering that Sudan's stability has a direct impact on the security and stability of the region, reminding of the huge resources that Sudan has in various fields. It is noteworthy that the meeting took place in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the General Intelligence Service.
