Peaceful Solidarity Rally in Sydney Denounces Support by UAE for Genocide in Darfur

A group of Sudanese expatriates and Australian supporters organized a peaceful protest on Saturday at Hyde Park in central Sydney to express their solidarity with the victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Darfur, and to denounce the support provided by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
Protesters carried banners calling for a boycott of the United Arab Emirates and accusing it of direct involvement in the crimes committed in Darfur. They demanded accountability for the UAE, the militia, and all those implicated, calling for their referral to the International Criminal Court (ICC), as they bear full responsibility for the war crimes and violations resulting from the financial and military support provided by the UAE to the terrorist militias.
This peaceful solidarity rally with the people of El-Fashir and Bara reflects the support of the Sudanese community in New South Wales and their rejection of the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity faced by civilians at the hands of the militia, which continues to besiege civilians, cut communications, and commit atrocities amid systematic starvation and a shocking humanitarian catastrophe in stricken ElFashir and Bara.
The rally also aimed to convey the community’s message to the Australian government, urging condemnation of the support provided by the UAE, increasing humanitarian assistance to Sudan, and strengthening support for the Sudanese-Australian community in immigration and family-reunification programs.
