Kabbashi Meets UN Resident Coordinator in Sudan on the Occasion of the End of Her Tenure in Sudan
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Shams- Eddin Kabbashi, met in his office on Thursday with the Resident Coordinator of UN Agencies and Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Sudan, Clementine Salami, is in his office today, on the occasion of the end of her tenure in the country. In a press statement, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil, explained that TSC Member General Shams-Eddin Kabbashi expressed the Sudanese leadership's appreciation for MS. Salami’s significant efforts to provide services to Sudanese citizens and the recent decision of UN agencies to remain in Port Sudan despite the attacks on the city by rebel militias. His Excellency said that the UN Resident Coordinator expressed her appreciation for the great cooperation she received from the government during her tenure, demonstrating her happiness to work in Sudan despite the war-torn conditions the country is experiencing.
