Health Minister Holds Extensive Meetings with International Partners to Support Health in Sudan
Acting Minister of Health, Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, held extensive meetings on the sidelines of the 78th World Health Assembly to discuss activating joint action and ensuring the implementation of health projects.
The Minister also met with Mr. Mark Adingto, Director of the Grants Department at the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and Mr. Mark Adingto, Director of the Africa Department and responsible for the Sudan file at the Fund. The meeting discussed bridging the financial gap through funding and establishing special arrangements for Sudan to ensure the continuation of health activities despite the current circumstances. The discussion also touched on the Addis Ababa workshop and arrangements related to the malaria and tuberculosis grant.
The Minister revealed the national campaign to distribute mosquito nets being launched in the Blue Nile region, which amounts to approximately 16.5 million mosquito nets at a cost of $57 million. He also highlighted the importance of securing medical supplies through the National Medical Supplies Fund.
