Prime Minister Meets Yemeni President at Munich Security Conference

Prime Minister Professor Kamil Idris met on Saturday with President of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen Rashad al-Alimi, head of his country’s delegation participating in the Munich Security Conference.
The Prime Minister affirmed the historic relations binding the two brotherly countries and the shared interests between them. He conveyed the greetings of President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Field General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan to the Yemeni President. He reviewed developments in Sudan and the comprehensive war of aggression facing the country, and outlined government efforts to achieve peace and stability, crowned by the peace initiative he presented before the UN Security Council last December. He stressed the importance of Yemen’s stability and the well-being of its people, as well as cooperation and coordination to strengthen Arab security and combat militias in the region.
For his part, President Al-Alimi affirmed that Yemen’s security is inseparable from Sudan’s security. He reiterated his country’s full support for Sudan’s unity, stability, and territorial integrity, and its commitment to strengthening and developing bilateral relations. He stated that Sudan has been subjected to a major conspiracy aimed at toppling the state, and underscored the importance of combating militias across the Arab world and achieving Arab security through full regional cooperation.
