Inaugurating Faisal Islamic Bank in Hillat-Koko, Ibrahim Jabir Urges Banks to Support Agricultural Sector

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Facilitating the Return to Khartoum State, Lt. Gen. Engineer Ibrahim Jabir, called on the banking sector to prioritize financing agricultural activities, small projects, and easing procedures for residents who have suffered looting and systematic impoverishment by the rebel militia.
Speaking at the inauguration of Faisal Islamic Bank in Hillat-Koko, Jabir urged Giad Company and all national agricultural machinery firms to open showrooms and maintenance workshops to provide after-sales services to local communities. He also called on the Central Bank of Sudan (CBOS) to oversee the opening of all bank branches to support economic development in the region.
Jabir praised the Sudanese people in general, and East Nile residents in particular, for their patience, perseverance, and dedication in supporting the Armed Forces and allied forces in the “Battle of Dignity.”
Khartoum State Wali Ahmed Othman Hamza confirmed the ongoing efforts of the Supreme Committee and the state government to provide basic services and extend electricity to markets and residential areas, stressing that citizens’ demand for services is a right, not a favour, as such services are essential for stability. He also called on Faisal Islamic Bank to contribute to road lighting, rehabilitation, and beautification.
The Representative of Faisal Islamic Bank’s executive management, Amin Al-Fadil Shebaika, stated that opening branches in Hillat-Koko and Al-Kalakla is more than a banking procedure—it is a clear message that the will to live is stronger than the will to destroy. He added that the bank’s role goes beyond financial services, aiming to instil citizens’ confidence and contribute to reconstruction through a series of future branch openings, supporting the state’s path toward recovery and stability.
