Saudi Arabia Strongly Condemns RSF’s Criminal Attacks on Al-Kuwaik Military Hospital, WFP Convoy, and Civilians’ Bus

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the criminal attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on Al-Kuwaik Military Hospital, a World Food Programme (WFP) relief convoy, and a bus transporting displaced civilians. The attacks resulted in the deaths of dozens of unarmed civilians, including women and children, and caused damage to facilities and humanitarian convoys in North and South Kordofan states.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Kingdom affirmed that these acts are entirely unjustifiable and constitute blatant violations of all humanitarian norms and relevant international conventions.
The Kingdom called for the RSF to immediately cease these violations and to comply with the provisions of the Jeddah Declaration (Commitment to Protect Civilians in Sudan), signed on 11 May 2023.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its stance supporting Sudan’s unity, security, and stability, stressing the importance of preserving its legitimate institutions. The Kingdom also rejected foreign interference and the continued flow of illicit weapons, mercenaries, and foreign fighters into Sudan, noting that despite some parties’ declared support for a political solution, such actions are a major factor in prolonging the conflict and increasing the suffering of the Sudanese people.
