Dr. Kamil Idris Launches National Campaign to Clean Khartoum State
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris launched the major campaign to improve the environment and clean Khartoum State on Wednesday. The event was attended by Engineer Mohamed Kurtikaila Salih, Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, and the Wali (governor) of Khartoum State, Ahmed Osman Hamza, along with a number of officials and representatives of youth and community sectors, in an event assured the importance of community solidarity in improving the environment and promoting public health. In his speech, Dr. Idris announced the official launch of the campaign from the national capital, emphasizing that Khartoum represents a symbol of sovereignty and the prestige of the state, and that improving its environment is a national responsibility that requires concerted official and popular efforts. Idris praised the remarkable turnout from various segments of society, especially the youth, who responded to the call to participate in this national campaign. He added, "We count on you greatly, and we affirm our support for you wholeheartedly in leading this national campaign."
For his part, the Wali of Khartoum State expressed his appreciation for the Prime Minister's leadership of the campaign, noting that it will cover the seven localities of Khartoum State. He added that the campaign has been scheduled for three months and that the removal of major accumulations will be completed within a week.
The Wali of Khartoum State affirmed that work was underway to prepare the environment, particularly in the areas of mosquito and fly control, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the people of the homeland. He thanked the media for their presence, which conveys the pulse of life in terms of security and stability. He noted that Khartoum State was now welcoming all state leaderships, who are carrying on with their work, and citizens who have begun to return, underscoring that their duty is to serve these citizens.
