Press Statement
Mofa7

The Government of the Sudan expresses its deep concern regarding the statement issued on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, by the so-called ALPS Group on the humanitarian situation in Sudan. The statement contained numerous inaccuracies and failed to reflect the realities on the ground, particularly the efforts being exerted by the Government of the Sudan to deliver humanitarian assistance to those in need across the country, in coordination with national institutions and humanitarian relief organizations operating in Sudan.

It is regrettable that the statement referred to obstruction of relief operations and impediments to the delivery of humanitarian convoys without acknowledging that the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia is in fact the party targeting these convoys and besieging civilians in a number of areas in Kordofan and Darfur. The statement overlooked the ongoing siege imposed by this RSF terrorist militia on the city of El Fasher, in blatant disregard of United Nations Security Council resolutions and repeated appeals by regional and international organizations. It also ignored the militia’s deliberate attacks on infrastructure and public service facilities, which have placed civilian lives at grave risk through hunger, thirst, and disease. At the same time, the Government of the Sudan continues to exert vigorous efforts to restore essential services, secure affected areas, and facilitate the voluntary return of citizens to their homes so they may resume their normal life.

The Government of the Sudan categorically rejects the statement’s attempt to equate the Sudanese Government and its constitutional institutions with a terrorist militia whose rebellion has been witnessed by the international community, and whose grave crimes and violations against the Sudanese people have been well-documented. The Government equally rejects any orders from parties that fail to respect Sudan’s sovereignty over its own territory and its sovereign right to take all measures required by its supreme national interests, firmly supported by its people.

In this context, the Government of the Sudan reaffirms its readiness to cooperate and coordinate with all governments and international and regional organizations that respect Sudan’s sovereignty and recognize its full right to exercise its constitutional responsibilities in safeguarding the resources of the Sudanese people and in establishing security and stability throughout the country.
