Jabir chairs meeting of networking and import and export control committees at ports and airports
Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, chaired a meeting of the networking and import and export control committees at ports and airports at the General Commercial Registry headquarters in Port Sudan on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Council of Ministers and the Minister of Finance.
The Assistant Commander-in-Chief informed Sudanese employers and businessmen working in import and export that all data and documents related to company records and institutions in Khartoum would be recovered after the systematic destruction of public facilities by the rebel militia. Lt. General Ibrahim Jabir directed the acceleration of networking operations to facilitate procedures pertinent to commercial activities carried out by companies, both domestically and internationally. His Excellency praised the efforts made, the significant improvement in service provision to the public, and the significant facilitation of the process of obtaining a commercial registration, in accordance with the requirements set by the Ministry of Justice and the Commercial Registrar to facilitate commercial activity in Sudan.
For her part, the Director General of the Sudan Standards and Metrology Organization, Engineer Rahba Saeed Abdullah, praised the achievements of the General Commercial Registrar in retrieving records and initiating the networking process. He noted that the networking process between the Standards and Metrology departments is 90% complete, while a partnership has been activated with the General Intelligence Service and a number of institutions and bodies to establish the "Baladna" platform to enhance networking among relevant entities. In a press statement, the General Advisor to the Commercial Registrar, Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Direij, explained that the meeting discussed the issue of linking the "Baladna" network platform with relevant entities in commercial, economic, security, and legal work. Dr. Direij explained that the meeting addressed the role of the commercial registrar in promoting economic and investment development, the importance of revising and correcting the commercial registry, and the method of registering company and business names. He explained that the meeting resulted in several recommendation including the activation of coordination between all relevant parties, reviewing all registered commercial entities, and the need for committees to submit their work reports by the end of April.
