Minister of Social Development Meets AfDB Representative

Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakhit met Wednesday at the Ministries Complex in Portsudan with the African Development Bank (AfDB) representative, Mr. Darkourti, in the presence of the Undersecretary of Economic Planning at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Mohamed Bashar. The Minister reviewed the Bank's previous activities in Sudan and its capacity-building programs within poverty alleviation and rural women's projects.
The Minister thanked the AfDB representative for the partnership with Sudan and urged him to strengthen and enhance this partnership, given the circumstances facing Sudan. The AfDB representative, in turn, explained the nature of upcoming projects and the need to support families and individuals, ensuring that women, youth, and vulnerable groups receive at least 30% of the projects. Mr. Darkourti highlighted the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and spoke about the projects approved for Sudan that require final details based on the current circumstances.
