Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni affirmed his rejection of the establishment of any parallel government in Sudan and called for dialogue to reach a solution that ends the war. This came during his meeting with the Vice President of the Sovereignty Council, Commander Malik on Wednesday afternoon at the presidential palace in Entebbe, expressing his desire to visit Sudan. The meeting discussed Nairobi hosting meetings of the rebel militia and its allies and their signing of the so-called political charter.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Sudan and the Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council explained to President Museveni the Sudanese government's vision for ending the war and the transitional period, indicating that the path to ending the war is clear and is represented by implementing the outcomes of the Jeddah Declaration and ending the occupation of civilian facilities and targeting service centers. The meeting also discussed the file of ending the suspension of Sudan's activities in the African Union, which was done according to a wrong reading by the Union's agencies at the time.
The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council is visiting Uganda, accompanied by the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil.
