Foreign Minister receives German Chargé d'Affaires
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ali Yousuf Ahmed Al-Sharif received, in his office on Tuesday, the German Chargé d'Affaires Ambassador David Schuck.
The ambassador congratulated the Minister on his appointment, expressing his country's aspiration to enhance cooperation with the Sudanese government and contribute to achieving peace and stability. He stated that Germany has provided aid worth $280 million, expressing his appreciation for the government's efforts in facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid.
German Chargé d'Affaires stressed that his country does not equate the army with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia due to the vandalism caused by this militia to the country and the violations and atrocities it committed against civilians. For his part, Foreign Minister expressed his appreciation for the German role in providing aid, calling for doubling it due to the large gap in donors' fulfillment of their obligations.
The minister expressed Sudan's openness to any initiative aimed at achieving peace and preserving Sudan's sovereignty and stability, reiterating Sudan rejection of equating the army that defends the sovereignty of Sudan and its people with the militia that targets citizens and commits atrocities as it is currently doing in the Al-Gezira State, calling for its condemnation, holding those responsible accountable and bringing them to justice.
