Foreign Ministry issues statement on the change in Syria

MOFA4

Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued Monday a statement on the change that took place in the Syrian Arab Republic.
The statement said, "Sudan has been following with great interest the recent developments in the situation in sisterly Syria, and the political change that has resulted in the country." The statement stressed that Sudan renews its support for the right of the Syrian people to impose their will, exercise their legitimate rights, and decide on how to run their affairs. The Foreign Ministry called on the international community to respect the choice of the Syrian people, support Syria's unity and sovereignty over its lands, support it in preserving its resources and capabilities, and advance its regional and international role and resist foreign interference in its internal affairs.
The statement added, "Sudan expresses its confidence that the brotherly Syrian people and its political and social forces will exert every possible effort to exploit the real opportunity provided by the political change to strengthen national unity, consolidate security, peace, stability, and establish social justice in sisterly Syria, so that it will always remain a beacon of civilization, enlightenment, and goodness."
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Sudan's appreciation for the full awareness embodied by the brotherly Syrian people of what the stage requires in terms of unity, solidarity, and transcendence of the reasons for division and dispersion, and keenness to protect the institutions of the Syrian state, which reassures that Syria will safely overcome the difficulties of transition and crossing into a new era.
