Minister Announces Integrated Livestock Production City to Support Producers and Herders
Federal Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Prof. Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, met Thursday with the Deputy Wali of River Nile State, Acting Minister of Animal Resources and Pastures Mustafa Mohamed Osman Al-Sharif, along with senior veterinary officials and local producers, breeders, and herders.
The minister highlighted the government’s commitment to addressing challenges in the state’s livestock sector by establishing an integrated livestock production city aimed at supporting producers, breeders, and herders, whom he described as the backbone of the industry. He noted plans to partner with Savings, Al-Nilein, Khartoum, and Workers Banks to fund small-scale projects for rural women in fish farming and beekeeping, boosting household income and integrating them into livestock production.
Al-Mansouri also underscored Sudan’s participation in the Sudanese-Omani, Sudanese-Kuwaiti, and Sudanese-Saudi Investment Councils, which recommended investing in and developing the livestock sector, with River Nile State positioned as a key hub for domestic and export markets.
