Kamil Idris: Violations by the rebel militia and SPLM-N in Nuba Mountains are an extension of an unprecedented crime
Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris has stated that the violations committed by the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) against civilians in various areas are an unprecedented crime, indicating that the violations committed by the militia and its ally, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), in the Nuba Mountains are an extension of this crime.This came during a meeting at his office in Port Sudan on Monday with a delegation from the Nuba Mountains. Idris stressed that the country has been waging an existential war against a brutal militia. He expressed the Government of Hope's appreciation for the sacrifices of the armed forces, the supporting forces, and all those who participated in the Battle of Dignity, and that the Government of Hope supports them, praising the victories achieved.The speakers stated that they had gathered as citizens of the nation in light of the War of Dignity against the rebel RSF militia, which threatens the country, stressing that they stand with the armed forces and the supporting forces in one trench. They addressed the pressing issues and challenges facing the Nuba Mountains, explaining that the area is facing violations and attacks by the rebel RSF militia and its ally, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), led by rebel Abdelaziz Al-Hilu. They also noted that the area is facing critical humanitarian conditions, with displaced persons and refugee camps, noting that the western areas of the mountains are the most affected. The speakers pointed out that the urgent needs of the area include food, health, and shelter interventions. They referred to the difficulty of organizations' movement in the area due to road closures by the rebel militia and the SPLM-N, as well as fuel shortages.
