TSC Affirms Sudan's Commitment to Access Humanitarian Aid to All Those in Need

TSC Affirms Sudans Commitment to Access Humanitarian Aid to All Those in Need

Advisor to the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Organizations and Humanitarian Action, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig Ismail, has affirmed the state's commitment to delivering humanitarian aid to all displaced persons (IDPs) and those in need without ethnic, regional, religious, or political discrimination.During the 26th briefing conference of the Ministry of Culture and Information, organized by the Sudan News Agency (SUNA), which was devoted today to discussing the general guidelines for humanitarian aid in the country, he pointed out that the state has opened crossings and routes, even those outside its control, noting that the Adre crossing will be extended for three months, from May to August. Al-Sadig called on humanitarian organizations to work diligently to deliver humanitarian aid, especially to a number of areas in North Darfur and South Kordofan states, as these areas are most in need and suffer from shortages of food, medicine, and shelter materials. He added that, to assist the Humanitarian Aid Commission (HAC), the state leadership has established a TSC consultative body and the National Emergency Committee, adding that these bodies are the HAC executive arm to assist it in carrying out its duties. He noted that the committee includes members from several ministries and entities involved in humanitarian work.
Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig reiterated Sudan's commitment to international humanitarian law, as a member in the United Nations, as well as coordination with international partners to deliver relief to all those in need in the country without objection or discrimination. He affirmed the Sudanese government's commitment to removing all obstacles facing international organizations and facilitating procedures related to visas, permits, and movement authorizations.
