TSC Member Jabir Meets Chairperson of AU Commission

Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Assistant Commander-in-Chief, Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Jabir, met on Friday with Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission , Mahmoud Ali Yusuf. The meeting took place on the sidelines of his participation in the 34th Ordinary Arab League Summit, which begins tomorrow, Saturday, in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The meeting was attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hussein Al-Amin Al-Fadil. In a press statement, Chairperson of the AU Commission said that, during the meeting, he was briefed on the overall developments in Sudan and efforts to achieve peace, security, and stability. He noted that the meeting addressed the AU Commission's role and efforts to assist Sudan in overcoming this critical phase that Sudan and the region are experiencing. The Chairperson of the AU Commission affirmed that Sudan's security will contribute to enhancing security and stability in the Horn of Africa region, noting that Sudan is the beating heart of the African continent.
The AU Commission Chairman praised the victories achieved by the armed forces and their control over many areas, expressing his hope that Sudan would return to its natural position, particularly that it has the capabilities to enable it to achieve these goals and enhance security, stability and peace in the country.
