Foreign Ministry Condemns Failed Assassination Attempt Targeting Somali President's Convoy

Portsudan, March 20, 2025 (SUNA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the failed assassination attempt targeting His Excellency President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, as his convoy was traveling in the capital, Mogadishu, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
The attack resulted in the death and injury of a number of citizens in the vicinity of the unfortunate incident. In a press statement issued Thursday, the Ministry expressed its full solidarity with the brotherly Somali people and their leadership at this critical time, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured persons. It affirmed its confidence in the wisdom and ability of the Somali leadership and the determination of its people to overcome this stage and thwart all acts of terrorism and plots to destabilize the country's security and stability.
