TSC President meets American Samaritan's Purse delegation
President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel- Fattah Al-Burhan, received in his office on Monday the delegation of the Samaritan's Purse in the United States of America headed by Rev. William Franklin Graham III, in the presence of Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Ali Youssef, and the Head of the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies, Lt. Gen. Al-Sadig Ismail Mahmoud. At the beginning of the meeting, the delegation thanked TSC President and the Government of Sudan for the tight coordination and facilities provided to deliver humanitarian aid to those who deserve it in South Kordofan. General Al-Burhan expressed the appreciation of the Government of Sudan for the efforts of the Samaritan's Purse, which has been working in Sudan for several years, and whose efforts extended to establishing hospitals in Al-Gadarif and Hamashkoreib.
The Head of the Joint National Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies said, in a press statement, that the meeting came within the framework of the strategic vision adopted by the Sudanese government regarding humanitarian aid, in which TSC President stressed that Sudan's position is firm in dealing with the requirements of the humanitarian issue without any political or media purposes and that its starting points are to provide assistance to Sudanese citizens without discrimination based on color, race, region or religion. For his part, the president of Samaritan's Purse in the United States of America, expressed his happiness to visit Sudan, praising the efforts of the Sudanese government in facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid to those in need, indicating that his organization has been working in Sudan for 30 years and providing its services throughout the country. He added that the meeting touched on the activities and programs that the organization can provide in the future in various sectors, particularly the health sector, pointing to the fruitful cooperation between the organization and the Ministry of Health in providing health services. Rev. Franklin explained that the meeting was an opportunity to exchange ideas and visions regarding humanitarian action, expressing his hope that Sudan would receive more support, especially at this critical stage it is going through. He said that he would convey what he saw during this visit to American agencies and institutions so that they would be informed of the challenges facing Sudan in the humanitarian field, expressing his hopes for the re-establishment of ties between the American administration and the Sudanese government in order to serve the joint interests of the two countries.
