President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan met, on Wednesday in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where the meeting touched on the developing relations between the two countries and ways to support prospects for bilateral cooperation.
President of the Sovereignty Council briefed the Iranian President on the overall situation in Sudan against the backdrop of the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Militia's rebellion against the state and its institutions, stressing the government's cooperation with all initiatives aimed at resolving the crisis through dialogue, but the intransigence of the rebel militia prevented that.
TSC President congratulated Iranian President on his victory in the presidential elections, praising the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran in supporting Sudan in regional and international forums, pointing to the extended cooperation relations between the two countries in all different fields.
For his part, Iranian President lauded the course of bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that the cooperation relations between his country and Sudan receive great attention from the leadership in both countries.
The meeting was attended from the Sudanese side by Ambassador Al-Harith Idris, Sudan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
