Burhan Hemedti meeting Postponed

MOFA 1

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the Intergovernmental Authority for Development (IGAD) has postponed the meeting that scheduled for today, Thursday, between the President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, the Sudanese Army Commander, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, and the leader of the Rapid Support Militia, Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti).

The Foreign Ministry said in a statement, Wednesday, that it has received a note from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Djibouti, Chair of the IGAD session, stating that the commander of the rebel Rapid Support Forces was unable to reach Djibouti to hold the meeting that was scheduled for today, Thursday, in the Djibouti capital, with Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, for technical reasons, it said, and that coordination will be made again to hold the meeting next January.
The statement noted that Al-Burhan, out of his keenness, in his capacity as President of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander of the Armed Forces, to end the suffering of the Sudanese caused by the militia rebellion, had formally expressed his approval for the IGAD presidency to hold the meeting, and was preparing to leave for Djibouti this Wednesday evening, had he not received IGAD postponement notice.
The statement expressed the Sudanese government’s regret over the procrastination of the rebel militia leadership in avoiding to listen to the voice of reason, and its lack of will to stop the destruction of Sudan and its people.
