The acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Trade and Supplies Abdel Bgi Issa, met with the delegation of the United Nation Economic Commission led by the Director of the Regional office for North Africa. The Undersecretary briefed the delegation on the ministry's work as the sole body in charge of commercial business in the country, reviewing the agricultural resources of the Sudan and the other resources such as mineral and the challenges facing the overall polices of the state.
The head of the UN delegation on her part affirmed readiness of UN economic commission for Africa to support Sudan to implement a number of projects according to priorities particularly technical assistance.
The head of the UN delegation praised Sudan for organizing the integrated framework program of the workshop organized to boost entrepreneurship projects for small and medium term, exclaming about the ratification of the continental agreement. The UN delegation requested the ministry to support the technical studies in the field of value added chains and lay down national strategy to develop exports and opening more markets and export processed martials, and supports how to manage resources, supports statistical programs, technical support for participation in the tripartite free zone and COMESA, , and supports the projects on commodity exchange.
