President of TSC discusses with Chinese President strategic bilateral relations

Xi Al Burhan

The President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, and the Chinese President Xi Jinping held a bilateral summit on the sidelines of the Arab-Chinese summit hosted by Saudi Arabia in capital Riyadh. The two presidents discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation and coordination on regional and international issues of common concern in order to achieve the common interests of the two countries and peoples.
The President of the TSC expressed Sudan's appreciation for the supporting Chinese stances in all international forums, reiterating Sudan's support for China in all issues that strengthen its unity and preserve its right to defend it. He affirmed Sudan's support for all Chinese initiatives, especially the peace initiative in the Horn of Africa and the Chinese-Arab summit.
Al-Burhan has asserted the necessity of activating the mechanisms of joint bilateral action between the two countries, and addressing the debt problem in a way that allows more Chinese cooperation and investment in Sudan, especially in the field of oil. His Excellency has given directives to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant authorities to expedite the activation and promotion of everything that would develop and consolidate the relations of the two countries. On his part, the Chinese president expressed his country's keenness to support Sudan and strengthen relations between the two countries in all fields, which leads to strategic relations, pointing out that the TSC has a major role in achieving peace and stability in Sudan. He affirmed his rejection of all foreign interference in the Sudanese internal affairs, praising Sudan for achieving peace in the Horn of Africa and South Sudan through its presidency of the IGAD organization.
President Xi Jinping said that China appreciates the Sudan’s great potentials, and looks forward to more cooperation in the fields of oil, agriculture, mining and infrastructure, pledging to discuss the issue of China's debts to Sudan, as it is an active member of the China-Arab-African Cooperation Forum.
The Chinese president has invited the President of the TSC to visit China as soon as possible.
