US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted: “We welcome the signing of the initial framework political agreement in Sudan, an important step toward establishing a civilian government and defining constitutional arrangements to guide Sudan through a transitional period culminating in elections.”
He noted: “An inclusive and concerted effort to finalize negotiations and reach final agreement to form a new civilian government is vital to address Sudan’s urgent political, economic, security, and humanitarian challenges.”
Blinken stressed in his tweet: “Now more than ever, political stakeholders must put Sudan’s national interest above narrow political ends and constructively engage with one another to realize the Sudanese people's continued calls for freedom, peace, and justice.” It is worth noting that the Sudanese parties signed in 5th of current December at the Republican Palace, amid regional and international presence that included the trilateral mechanism, ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions, a political framework agreement between the military components and the civilian parties to end the political crisis in the country, in preparation for formation of a government to complete the transitional period.
