The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Al-Saddiq, Monday received in his office the visiting Director of the Horn of Africa and West Africa Department at the Norwegian Foreign Ministry, Elisabeth Hansen, and discussed ways of strengthening the relations between Sudan and Norway.
The meeting also reviewed progress of the current political dialogue in Sudan and the signing of the political framework agreement, which is considered a step forward for achieving stability in Sudan.
The minister has appreciated the efforts of Norway in supporting Sudan through the bilateral relations and via its endeavors in the Troika to boost peace and stability in the region. Ambassador Al-Saddiq has expressed Sudan aspiration to continue cooperation with Norway in all fields after formation of the coming civilian government. On her part, the Norwegian official affirmed her country’s readiness to strengthen its relations with Sudan in different domains, especially in the agriculture, food security, renewable energy and the cultural and academic fields.
