Foreign Minister meets deputy head of UNITAMS

The Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq Ali, met in his office today, Ms. Khardiata Londiani, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in the United Nations Integrated Transitional Support Mission (UNITAMS), and Resident Coordinator. During the meeting, the Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to Ms. Khardiata for her efforts through her position as Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs and also as Deputy-Chair of the UNITAMS mission, and her initiatives in the peace building process based on her rich experience in other African countries, as well as her knowledge of the social, cultural, political and economic context in Sudan . On her part, Ms. Khardiata expressed her thanks and appreciation for the cooperation she received from the Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the understanding of the Sudanese sectors with which she worked, stressing that she will remain concerned and supportive of the political peace process and peace-building in accordance with local priorities.
