Khartoum, Nov. 21 (SUNA) – The acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Ali Al-Saddiq, received in his office on Monday the General Director of Africa and the Indian Ocean Department at the French Foreign Ministry and discussed progress of the bilateral relations and common issues between Sudan and France at the regional level.
The minister stressed the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to support Sudan to achieve the goals of the transitional period and to complete the efforts of the national consensus. He affirmed the importance of reactivating the bilateral cooperation mechanisms, establishment of strategic dialogue meetings, the resumption of development aid and enhancement of the trade exchange between Sudan and France. The Director General of the Africa Department at the French Foreign Ministry said that France appreciates Sudan efforts to enhance the regional stability, especially in neighboring countries such as Chad and South Sudan, praising Sudan efforts in hosting refugees from neighboring countries. He said that the future of bilateral relations between the two countries would witness focusing on creating partnerships in the areas of agriculture, transportation, livestock and the scientific, cultural and academic exchange.
