Khartoum, Jan 11 (SUNA) – Member of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), Dr. Al-Hadi Idriss has appreciated the efforts being exerted by the United Nations Integrated Transitional Assistant Mission in Sudan (UNITAMS), referring that the government of the transitional period has welcomed the proposed international Initiative to realize stability in Sudan. The TSC Member who met, today, in the Republican Palace, the UNITAMS’S Head, Volker Perthes Affirmed the government’s keenness to hold dialogue with all the components to achieve a unified vision to guarantee safe end to the current crisis. Volker, on his part, pointed out that the UN Initiative is considered contribution to facilitate the consultation on the democratic transformation, referring that the mission does not have a memorandum or draft solutions to the crisis, but the problem will be solved through dialogue among the Sudanese themselves. He underlined that the meeting touched on the recent security breaches in Darfur, expressing concern over what is happening, and stressing the need for concerted popular and governmental efforts to protect citizens to ensure humanitarian assistance access to the needy and improve Sudan's image before the international community.
