Khartoum, Dec. 21 (SUNA) - Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abdallah Omar Bashir received in his office today HE Hossam Issa, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Khartoum and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways and means to support the transitional period. The Undersecretary thanked Egypt for standing beside Sudan, stressing the initiation of implementation of the matrix of issues and joint cooperation in coordination with the relevant ministries immediately after the announcement of the formation of the new government. The Egyptian ambassador affirmed Egypt's firm support for Sudan and its desire to enhance cooperation with it in all fields, coordinate positions and exchange support in international forums, stressing at the same time the Egyptian government's continued support for Sudan in the transi-tion process, with a focus on strategic projects to reach the stage of integration, especially the electricity connection project between the two countries and increasing electricity supply to Sudan from 70 to 300 megawatts, in addition to implementing the railway project linking Sudan and Egypt. The meeting discussed the importance of Sudan's return to the African Union and the need to enhance joint coordination between the two countries in all international and regional forums. BT/BT
