Khartoum, Dec. 28 (SUNA) - The spokesman of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif, denied what was attributed to him in press statements circulated on social media sites and some newspapers issued in Khartoum this morning, to permanently lift subsidies on bread and electricity in the new budget. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sharif, affirmed in a press circular issued by the Information Department of the Ministry of Finance today that the press statements attributed to him are baseless, and that he did not make any statement to any local or foreign media. He called on the media, social networking sites, and daily newspapers to be accurate, objective and honest and to get information from their sources, instead of fabricating news, stressing that the doors of the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning are open to anyone who requests any information about the new budget or economic reform in the country. A number of social networking sites and local newspapers quoted a press statement attributed to the official spokesman of the Ministry of Finance, saying that he confirmed the lifting of subsidies on bread and electricity in the new budget once and for all. ta
