Kosti, Nov. 6 (SUNA) - The security and economic committee of White Nile State has held a meeting, headed by the Secretary General of the Government of the state, the Acting Wali (governor), and discussed challenges facing harvest of summer crops in state and preparations for the new winter farming season. Director General of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources in the state Ms. Somaya Ahmed Abdel-Karim affirmed in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the meeting assured the importance of removing all obstacles facing the harvest of the crops of summer agricultural season, which has begun over an area of three million feddans for various crops. With regard to the winter farming season, the Director General of Production Ministry said that the state targets cultivation of an area of 100,000 feddans with wheat and other crops, and that the ministry is working to provide all production inputs for the new season.
