Dr. Hamdouk receives UN Undersecretary-General for peace operations

Khartoum, Sept 7 (SUNA) – Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk received, Tuesday, at his office, an international delegation headed by the United Nations Under-Secretary for Peace Operations, Jean Pierre Lacrouix and the UN Secretary-General Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga. The meeting discussed the situation of the Peace-keeping Force in Abyei Area and the steps taken so far, towards Sudan request for changing the unit stationed there. Lacroix confirmed that the United Nations has begun searching for troops from several countries that meet the required specifications. IF/IF
