Khartoum, July 5 (SUNA) – Foreign Minister, Dr. Mariam Al-Sadig Al-Mahdi left, today, for New York to participate in the UN Security Council session on the Renaissance Dam scheduled for ,Thursday , July 8. Sudan requested the Security Council session to consider Ethiopia’s intransigence in reaching a legal agreement on the filling and operating processes of the Renaissance Dam, and urging it not to take unilateral measures in this connection. The FM is expected to present Sudan’s statement before the Security Council to brief the member-states on its position and the necessity for participation of the international partners in the AU-led negotiations.
