Sudanese –Czech water cooperation discussed

Khartoum, June.1 (SUNA)-Minister of irrigation and Water Resources Prof. Yasser Abbas met, at his office, in Khartoum with a Czech delegation headed by its ambassador to Sudan Mr. Jan Fulik (resi-dent in Cairo) in the presence of General Director for Drinking Water and Sewage, Eng. Hisham Amir. The meeting discussed means of supporting water and irrigation projects in Sudan. Following the meeting, Amir said the Czech delegation promised on cooperation with Sudan in estab-lishing water harvesting dams for drinking water projects and generating power in rural areas. Moreover, he said the Czech delegation also promised to work with the Sudanese Government to rehabilitate Bahri water station which was originally established by Czech companies. AA/IF
