Khartoum Refinery resumes operation

Khartoum Refinery2

Khartoum, March 25 (SUNA) - Khartoum oil refinery (Algaili) resumed operation yesterday evening after its engineers managed to fix the emergency malfunction and overcome the problems that led to the refinery operation being suspended last Tuesday. The director of the refinery, Engineer Mahjoub Hassan Abdel- Gadir, affirmed in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the refinery would gradually reach its full production capacity within three or four days thanks to the efforts of the engineers and technicians working in it, who are qualified to deal with such cases and that the failure that occurred did not require in the first place seeking assistance of any experiences from outside the refinery. He said that what was circulated by some social media is pure imagination or a tendentious approach for reasons that had nothing to do with the public interest, and that portraying an emergency technical fault as a major disaster was a miserable attempt for confusion after the refinery resumed work following the recent completion of its periodic maintenance. The refinery director ruled out the possibility of malfunctions as a result of deliberate sabotage and renewed his high confidence in all workers who made great efforts to restore the refinery to work.
