Hamdouk receives phone call from US Secretary of State

Khartoum, Feb. 9 (SUNA) - Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk today, received a phone call from the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, during which the US Secretary of State expressed the firm commitment of the USA to support the civilian leadership of the transitional government, commending role of the leaders of the transitional period during the last period. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, affirmed in his first phone call with the Prime Minister, the USA’s firm commitment to support the democratic transformation in the country and fulfilling its full obligations, indicating the continued support of the US President Joe Biden’s government to Sudan during the transitional period in order to achieve comprehensive peace in the country, especially the support in the economic field, and strengthening the unconditional cooperation in all fields. On his part, the Prime Minister has extended his congratulations to the US Secretary of State on his assumption of the new position, stressing the fact that bilateral relations between the two countries entered a new era after the glorious December revolution and the removing of the Sudan’s name from the list of states sponsoring terrorism last year, indicating the Sudan’s government's aspiration for joint action in various issues and facing common challenges in a way that serves the interests of the two countries, and leads to the consolidation of the values of peace, stability and coexistence in the country and the region. ta
