Khartoum, Nov. 17 (SUNA) - Prime Minister, Dr. Abdullah Hamdouk, has affirmed the Sudan's readiness to fully cooperate with the United Nations Integrated Mission for Supporting the Country's Transition (UNTAMS) through the national committee entrusted with the task of dealing with the mission and coordinating with the Sudanese competence ministries and institutions. Dr. hamdouk met today at his office with the Chargé d'Affairs of the (UNTAMS) Mrs. Stephenie Curry, in the presence of the head of the National Committee for Coordination with the UN Mission, Ambassador Omar Sheikh, who noted in a press statement that the meeting has reviewed the mission’s tasks which will start at the beginning of next January, indicating that Mrs. Curry has confirmed readiness of the UN to implement the four strategic goals that came in Security Council Resolution No. (2524) related to supporting political transformation and work towards democratic governance, consolidating human rights concepts, technical assistance in electoral processes and constitution making, in addition to assistance in achieving and building a comprehensive peace, and mobilizing development and economic resources to implement these goals. On her part, the Chargé d'Affairs of the (UNTAMS) expressed pleasure over her arrival in Sudan, and confirmed the readiness of the UN to support Sudan in all stages of the political transition process. ta
