Tawer Says War Page Should be Turned Over

Khartoum, Nov.14(SUNA)-Member of Sovereign Council, Professor Siddiq Tawer affirmed importance of popular, regional and international support for turning over the war page and achieving lasting peace in the country. Addressing a workshop on Peace in Sudan-Requirements , Opportunities and Objectives – organized by Al-Azhari University’s Institute for Sudanese and International Studies Thursday , Professor Tawer said the most important task of the interim period is to turn over the war page , achieve peace ,writing the permanent constitution and achievement of sustainable democratic transformation . He indicating that addressing these challenges is not responsibility of the government alone but responsibility of all for the stage, he added, needs collective will. The member of the Sovereign Council underscored importance of reaching national reconciliation among all Sudanese components. He added that all components of the Sudanese society are partners in the peace process , referring to timely of convocation workshop and that its outcome could contribute to achievement of peace. ab
