Khartoum, Oct. 13 (SUNA) – The Foreign Minister, Asma Mohamed Abdalla, Sunday recei-ved at her office the Chairperson of the UN Sanctions Committee on South Sudan, Ms. Jo-anna Veronica, and the accompanying experts’ delegation. Ms. Veronica has appreciated the role of Sudan government in supporting the peace agreements of South Sudan State thanks to its full knowledge about the legal aspects relating to the political situations in South Sudan. She also appreciated the role of Sudan in hosting South Sudan refugees, a matter that had positive repercussions on the protection of civilians, especially women and children. The Minister of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the Chairperson of the UN Sanctions Committee on South Sudan and the accompanying delegation, stressing that the people of Sudan and South Sudan are in fact one people in two countries, affirming the keenness of Sudan to help realizing peace in South Sudan. She gave a review on the political developments in Sudan following the historical victory of the December Revolution, a matter that has positive impact on the relations between Sudan and South Sudan. She affirmed the importance of security and stability in South Sudan for supporting the security and stability in Sudan, reiterating Sudan support to formation of the national unity government in South Sudan State.
