Foreign Minister meets UN Secretary General's Advisor

Khartoum, Oct. 6 (SUNA) - During her meeting with the UN Secretary-General's Special Ad-visor, Nicholas Haysom, the Foreign Minister Asma Mohamed Abdalla, has thanked the UN Secretary-General and Mr. Haysom for supporting Sudan and urged the international com-munity to assist Sudan during the transitional period, particularly the strong support of the Secretary-General for removing Sudan from the list of countries sponsors of terrorism. The meeting held on Saturday discussed the outcome of the high-level meeting to support Sudan in New York on the sidelines of the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly last week with the participation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the Chair-person of the African Union Commission and a number of world leaders, as well as the participation of Sudan in the meeting of the Group of Friends of Sudan in Washington on October 21, 2019, represented in the person of the Minister of Finance and National Economy.
The two sides discussed efforts to organize an international donor conference for Sudan. IA/ MO
