Khartoum, Oct. 3 (SUNA) – The Minister of Culture and Information, Faisal Mohamed Salih, Thursday received in his office the Ambassador of Britain to Khartoum, Irfan Siddiq, and de-liberated about the freedom of the media and press in the transitional period and its contribution to realization of peace in Sudan and strengthening the relations between the two countries. The meeting has focused on the freedom of expression in general and the freedom of the journalists and media men particularly. The Ambassador of Britain has affirmed his country’s support to the efforts of the transitional government for building a new Sudan that guarantees the freedom of expression for the press men. He expressed his hope that Sudan will be open to the world and respects the freedom of the media men and journalists, indicating that attendance of the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdok, to the celebration of the freedom of expression in the UN General Assembly in New York will have positive impacts on the freedom of expression in Sudan.
