Khartoum, October 2 (SUNA) – The Minister of Industry and Trade Madani Abbas Madani has welcomed French investments and companies to Sudan, praising the development of bilateral relations between the two countries. During a meeting with the delegation of the French Renault Company (working in the field of trucks manufacturing, means of transport and spare parts) led by the Deputy Head of Renault Trucks International Company Olivier De Saint, Madani said that the visit was a confirmation of the development of bilateral relations between Sudan and France after the successful visit of the Prime Minister Dr. Abdullah Hamdok to France and his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron to affirm France's supportive role to Sudan in all international forums. Madani pointed out that the relations between the two countries at their best level after the success of the Sudanese revolu-tion. The minister asserted his ministry's keenness to provide the necessary support to the French company to expand its investments in Sudan in the industrial and commercial fields. For his part, the Deputy Chairman of the French Renault Company reviewed the company's plan in Sudan to increase the French investments in the country, especially in the field of transport, trucks and spare parts, (We came to support the Sudanese industry in this new era in the field of trucks and any other fields), he said, adding that their products represent 30% of the number of trucks operating in the transport of goods and cargoes in Sudan. De Saint expressed his company’s readiness to cooperate in the fields of training for drivers and other craftsmen, in addition to the establishment of a number of investment projects forwarded by Sudan, especially in the truck assembly industry.
